The inauguration ceremony of the "Mirror of Love" exhibition was held on Wednesday, August 28, with the presence of Mehdi Khorasanizadeh, Director General of the Office of Visual Arts, visual artists, and cultural officials at the Mirror Hall of Azadi Tower.
According to the public relations of Azadi Tower, at the beginning of the ceremony, Seyyed Amir Abbas Setayeshgar, Senior Advisor and Deputy of Cultural and Artistic Creations at the Rudaki Foundation, welcomed the guests. He expressed his happiness about the exhibition being held in a cultural and artistic building, noting that coffeehouse painting, which is a very suitable medium for presenting artistic narratives of historical and religious stories, has been neglected.
Following this, Seyyed Mohsen Hosseini, the head of the complex, announced that the coffeehouse painting exhibition would be held as a festival and mourning ceremony next year. The ceremony then began with storytelling by Master Narri.
After the storytelling, Dr. Esmaeil Azar took over the program's hosting and invited veteran coffeehouse painting artists, Dr. Namvar Motlagh and Dr. Kazem Chalipa, to provide explanations about coffeehouse painting for the guests.
Additionally, Hassan Basiri added a Hosseini and Karbala atmosphere to the ceremony with his Ashura storytelling performance.
This exhibition, which depicts the views of coffeehouse painters on Karbala, is open on August 28 and 29 at the Mirror Hall of Azadi Tower.
