The inaugural Khooshe Parvin Theater Festival will take place from January 4 to 10 at Tehran’s iconic Azadi Tower, focusing on performance art and directed by Maziar Rezakhani.
According to the Public Relations Office of the Azadi Tower Complex, the main stage of the venue will host the festival’s performance section in collaboration with the Rudaki Foundation.
The festival aims to provide a platform for emerging female theater directors and is based on a concept by Rezakhani, who also founded the Parvin Etesami Film Festival.
Notable figures supporting the festival include renowned filmmaker Pouran Derakhshandeh, a senior member of the Policy Council, and Atousa Momeni, head of the Intangible Heritage Center at Iran’s Ministry of Cultural Heritage and a key policy board member.
The jury for this year’s edition comprises prominent figures in Iranian theater and cinema:

The festival is organized by the Da Cultural and Artistic Institute and the Intangible Heritage Center (affiliated with UNESCO), with support from the Vice Presidency for Women and Family Affairs and the Azadi Tower Cultural and Artistic Complex.
